Our fences and gates last

Almost every job I've seen, the gates almost never worked right. I decided to make gates that would last as long as my customers. I don't use screws or nails. I use only dry wood with tight grains to make my gates last. The frame of the gate is one unit, by using tongue and groove construction.  Cleints want a good looking gate, that goes with their good looking house. I don’t know any company that makes gates the way I do. It takes a lot of time to make them this way,  They last a lot longer this way and look a lot nicer.

For fences, I use all red redwood heartwood. It resists termites and rot.  I dry all the wood before installing it.  To check I use a wood moisture meter and dry to 10% or less. By drying the wood first, the stained finsh lasts longer.
